Exploding a Moment

Optimist yachting

Optimist yachting was a cool experience

Arriving at optimist yachting, we bolted off the huge bus and prepared for optimist yachting.
Once we hopped off the bus, we had to put all of our gear on like life jacket, togs covered shoes, hat, and more. After that, we split up into rooms sixteen/seventeen. Sixteen was doing tubing and Seventeen was doing yachting. When we were told to go to our spots, we sprinted like Usain Bolt to the tubes. Me and my friends Reed, Jaedyn, and Rico grabbed the pango tyres so that we can do manus on it. Also that it can fit all of us on it.

Hanging on to each other, sun beating down on us, we took turns jumping off. Cold water hit me taking my breath away. After that Reed and Jaedyn thought of jumping on the black tube at the shallow end. While they were jumping on to the black tube, Mrs Borger took a video of them in slow motion. When they were running to the tyre Jaedyn sprinted off and landed on it first. Once they did it about ten times I jumped in but I was landing on my on black tyre. When it was our last turn to jump on it we decided to swim like Michael Phelps as fast as the wind around buoy 2 and back and Reed won. Once we finished with the tubes we switched over with room seventeen and did sailing, paddling, and kayaking.

When we headed over Mr Russ said We are going to try paddling”. then after that, me and Te amo hopped on to a boat and grabbed the special ores. Once we hopped on, we had to wait for the other people to get ready and start paddling like a speedboat to the other island. When we started the race me and Te amo raced to the island like a torpedo soaring through the beautiful sea. First ones that made it to the island and back was me, Te amo, and Samson. On the boat, Samson did the rudder and me and Te amo did the paddling.

After that, I went on the kayak and Sean, Jaedyn, and Quaylo went on the huge 3 seat kayak and Layton on the other kayak. Once we were Kayaking on the amazing sea, we had a race to buoy 2 and back they were winning at the start but I won it at the end because I do canoe polo. While I was paddling on the sea, Reed asked me can I have a turn” and I said “ yes“. So I jumped out into the freezing water and handed it to Reed ( also a canoe polo player ). When Reed jumped in he said thanks” and I replied “your welcome. It was close to our time is done on the sea and going back to school. But I had one final time on the yacht with a sail and capsized. It was so fun that I could go under it and breathe. Also, I could flip it back over and it could still float. While we were doing capsizing Mr. Russ said “everyone come in that’s time” so everyone started sailing back in and kayaking. While the yachts were coming back in I was one of the first to come in so I helped with the yachts and pulled them back up.

Finally, I went to go get change. While I was in the changing rooms I was so freezing that I thought there was snow. So I got change fast like the flash and got back outside in the scorching hot sun. Once I got outside, we were allowed to eat our yummy food and it tasted delicious. When we were done we headed back to school on the humongous bus and felt tired at the end.

A that was my cool experience at Optimist Yachting.

Wairangi_Exemplar - Story

Tangata ako ana i te whare, te turanga ki te marae, tau ana
A person who is taught at home, will stand collected on the Marae (meeting house grounds)
At Middlemore hospital in 2007 on October 26 my mum was having a baby and guess who it was, yes! It was me. My mum was going through a lot of pain, but then she saw my lovely eyes. When she saw my eyes she was sweating in tears, happy to see me.

I was born in Auckland, when I turned 2 I went to this lovely Kindy called little Sunbeams. Since my sister has been here before I was not that nervous but when I got inside yes I was nervous. I only went to that kindy for one year.

When my mum applied for a job at Heretauga Heretaunga that is when we moved to Hastings. My Dad stayed in Auckland with his family because to him that was home. We went to go live at Hapuku Street with my Uncle and Nan. While my Mum was working at Heretauga Heretaunga she was signing up for me to go to abc. While I went to the kindy, my sister was there with me and my mum always came to pick us up after kindy because her work is so close to us.

One thing that is important to me is my family why family because they love me with all there heart. Also they take care of me feed me kai and give me hugs and kisses. Probably because Im the youngest in the family. My step dad work at vegez, my older sister went to Hastings Girls High School and made dozens of friends. My brother went to Flaxmere College, and you already know where my younger sister.
One more thing that is important to me is sports. Why because when I was 5 my mum put me in a HRS team and I like literally played in that team my whole life. Also when I was 4 I started taking lessons to learn to swim at Flaxmere Waterworld and when I turned 10 I joined there swim club called Sundevils.

My goal for second half of year is to have more blog posts because every week we have to finish something important than a blog post so we can finish that thing for that week.

What am I going to do to achieve it I am going to finish that thing that is more important than a blog post and then do my blog post.
